Animal Crossing New Leaf - How to Sell Ore for More

Bored of hoarding bugs in Animal Crossing on the Island? Tired of Reese not paying full price for your ore? Just get your villagers to pay top dollar for your ore and profit!

Collecting bugs on the Island can be tedious and is only effective during certain times of the day. Selling your ore for more than the Re-tail price Reese gives you can be both simple and rewarding. While you won't raise a ton of money as quickly as you would with bugs, it's still a great way to make the most of selling your ore.

Collect Your Ore

First collect some ore. Every day there is a new rock generated in your town that has never been there before. If you hit it with the shovel, it will break and turn into an ore. You can also use a silver shovel and sometimes when you hit the money rock, it'll turn into ore too.

Regardless, pick up your ore and head over to Retail.

Sell it at Re-Tail in the Flea Market Space

As you can see, Reese is buying this amethyst ore for 2,000 bells. While that's still quite a lot of bells for one item, I know I can sell this item for nearly 4x that price to a villager.

That's right. If you put an item (any item, it doesn't just have to be ore) in the flea market space for 4x the price Reese will pay minus one bell, It will always sell.

Since we know Reese will pay 2,000 bells for this particular ore, we know that villagers will pay 7,900 bells for that same item.

Wait for Villagers to See your Item

All you have to do now is wait for your villagers to enter the Re-Tail shop and see your item. It's pretty easy to push them in the right direction. Literally, you can push them towards your item.

Hamlet walked in and immediately saw it. Way to be the real MVP.

Yes of course. Buy my things!

And done. You just sold your amethyst gem for x4 the price that Reese was going to buy. While you villager will only buy one item, this is a great method to use while you're just playing your game and not thinking about it. You can also use this method for other things too, like furniture and clothing. I just find that ore is an expensive item that you can make a lot of money off of it.

Now with your new found knowledge, move forth and make some paper.
