Animal Crossing New Leaf - How to Make QR Codes (Even if you suck at art)

Have you ever surfed Tumblr or Pintrest and wondered just how people made some of those extravagant QR Codes in Animal Crossing New Leaf? Some of them just seem too unreal to do just by hand. Well now with some online tools, you can be a QR Artist too!

Here is a program created by Reddit user JefffN that turns images into QR Codes. You can download the program at the link provided here. The program helps turn online pictures into QR Codes for your game. This particular program only works for patterns, not for Pro Designs, but it is still workable either way.

Choose Your Image

Choose whatever image you want to make a QR Code. Certain images will obviously look better as patterns than others. I am going to turn this picture of Squirtle into a QR Code for my town flag.

After your program is downloaded and installed, open it up. You should get a screen that looks like this.

Importing Your Image to the Program

Next your should import the image of your choice into the QR creator. Go to File > New Pattern > From Image to find your image.

Once you import your image, the program will automatically turn your image into a pixelated version of itself and match to colors used in Animal Crossing New Leaf.

It looks a little blurry now, but don't worry. It'll look much better in game. Don't forget to give your QR Code a title of you want! I just left mine as Untitled.

Create Your QR Code

Finally, you want to actually create your QR code. Click the button to have the QR code pop up on your screen. It's as easy as pie!

Once your QR Code pops up on your screen, scan it like you would a regular QR code and use it in game!

Next time I will make a tutorial to show how to make QR Codes that you didn't make yours so you can use them/edit them!
